Abstract
The present article, within the framework of the updated content of education, alongside emphasizing the importance
of close-knit teaching of receptive and productive skills that form the core of an English lesson for
primary school students, focuses on theoretical and practical issues of using the technology of content and
language integrated learning (CLIL). The didactic features of two learning and educational sets: “Smile”, recommended
for general use in schools of Kazakhstan, and “Family and friends”, being often used in the educational
process, are identified. In the context of CLIL, the object of analysis is four components of textbooks:
content, communication, cognition, and culture. The views of experienced English language teachers as an
expert have been evaluated, and the advantages of compiling textbooks in the field of foreign language education
based on CLIL technology have also been described.
