Abstract
Developmental learning is widely regarded as an effective pedagogical framework for meeting contemporary educational standards. It aims to foster higher-order thinking skills, including analytical reasoning, identification of essential features, classification and generalization of mathematical objects, and transfer of knowledge to new contexts. These competencies support students’ ability to solve non-routine problems independently. This paper outlines key methodological principles of developmental learning in mathematics
education, with particular attention to geometry teaching and the use of digital tools such as dynamic geometry software.
