Abstract
The article investigates the existing knowledge of Islamic fundamentalism. A literature review on the phenomena
of Islamic fundamentalism includes the debate over the term and three main theoretical frameworks
(Middle Eastern and Islamic studies, conflict analysis and resolution, social movement theory) and problem
areas within these concepts.
