dc.description.abstractThe article deals with the investigation of the predominant factors influencing teacher job satisfaction and dissatisfaction in the university environment. Also, this article reveals the concept of job satisfaction, Maslow` s concept of lower and high order of people`s needs. Furthermore, two main factors leading to job contentment intrinsic (motivators) and extrinsic (hygiene) were also examined. Moreover, the impact of teachers` job contentment on employees` productivity and their attitude to work were considered thoroughly. In addition, different theories of job satisfaction which were introduced by Herzberg, Adam (Theory of `Equity`), Locke (Range of Affect Theory), Hackman and Oldham (Job characteristics theory) were scrutinized in this article. This paper also examined the recommendations of teachers regarding the factors, which contribute to an increase in the general level of job satisfaction within the faculty staff in Higher Education context such as improving the rewards system, growing prospects for self-improvement and providing a wide range of facilities, satisfying expectations of working conditions.ru_RU
