Abstract
The main fundamental principle of the state cultural policy in Kazakhstan is recognition of equality of cultures
of all people and also strengthening of integrity of culture, by means of creation of different conditions
for their preservation and development. It gave the chance to transfer a part of functions on ethnic and cultural
self-determination of the people in hands of nationalities and ethnoses. In optimization of the national relations
an important role is played by the national cultural centers and associations. The problem of activity of
the national cultural centers acquires special relevance today. Article is devoted to the main activities of the
national cultural centers of the Central Kazakhstan at a boundary of the XX–XXI centuries. Authors made an
attempt of the analysis and systematization of material about activity of the national cultural centers of the
Central Kazakhstan from the moment of their creation till today. In the course of work features of formation
of the national cultural centers were studied and their role in formation of cultural processes and interethnic
consent in modern Kazakhstan societies is shown. Priorities of development of the national cultural centers of
the Central Kazakhstan are defined. Authors come to a conclusion that the main activities of the national cultural
centers are - cultural and leisure, language, information and education, club, local history, communicative
work.
